NORCROSS, Ga. -- In recognition of the rising demand for mobile broadband services and the evolution of mobile backhaul networks toward a packet-based infrastructure, ADVA Optical Networking today announced the introduction of its Syncjack(TM) timing suite that enhances its market-leading FSP 150 Ethernet access platform.

The cost-optimized Syncjack technology for timing distribution, monitoring and timing service assurance opens the door to new revenue opportunities from the delivery of Service Level Agreement (SLA)-based synchronization services. Its unique flexibility simultaneously supports Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE 1588v2 with multiple timing domains across packet backhaul networks. "We bring the same attention to SLA monitoring of the timing network as we have done for monitoring and assuring traffic SLAs. With this addition, our FSP 150 has become a network solution capable of monitoring traffic and timing violations in one system," said Christoph Glingener, ADVA Optical Networking's chief technology officer. ADVA Optical Networking's Syncjack technology includes a synchronization network management suite that allows in-service monitoring of the accuracy of recovered clock signals and provides an extensive set of tools for remote configuration and trouble shooting.
