VIENNA, Va. and FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Cramer Systems has partnered with Sheer Networks, a provider of service management solutions for broadband network operations, to offer telcos enhanced network auto-discovery and automated service activation capabilities that will speed delivery of broadband services. The alliance combines Cramer's inventory management and provisioning automation capabilities with Sheer's service activation and live network auto-discovery solution, a package that will enable service providers to reconcile inventory, topology, and service configurations to reflect the actual network and all changes to it as soon as they are made. Real-time synchronization with the live network enables faster service deployment and reduced manpower requirements for order fall-out audits and re-provisioning/activation. To date, few telcos have managed to deliver broadband services cost-effectively; automation of the process has been limited by the complexity - and variable quality - of the network data that underpins the process. By improving the accuracy and completeness of network data, the Cramer/Sheer solution will automate service delivery processes from order capture to activation, reducing operational costs and boosting product margins. "Automating broadband service delivery is key to increasing its uptake, and enabling carriers to open up vital new revenue streams, said Don Gibson, CTO of Cramer Systems. "The Cramer/Sheer combination overcomes arguably the hardest part of the challenge - scaling the technical engineering design and delivery process to be able to meet demand." Cramer Systems Ltd.
