LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- ClearPath Networks, developer of the industry’s most compelling set of network-based Virtual Private Network (VPN) services for small- and medium-sized businesses, today announced that it is now offering high-speed DSL services powered by New Edge Networks, a national business broadband services provider. Under terms of the agreement, ClearPath is able to provide New Edge Networks’ DSL to customers as a stand-alone access solution or bundled with ClearPath’s iVPN, the industry’s first line of intelligent network-based managed VPNs.“High-speed Internet access shouldn’t be viewed as a luxury item or as a service useful only to large corporations,” said Cliff Young, President and CEO of ClearPath Networks. “Broadband opens the door to a wide range of other network services, such as managed VPNs, that can be extremely valuable to small businesses trying to compete on both a regional and national scale. By including New Edge Networks’ DSL in our product portfolio, we ensure these benefits are available to businesses throughout the United States — even those located in small cities typically ignored by other service providers.”New Edge Networks is one of the largest national enhanced data communications services providers and broadband DSL carriers specializing in delivering broadband services to small and midsize cities. The company owns a national backbone network that has 18 regional aggregation points and almost 600 nodes, making it one of the largest ATM networks in the United States. Through its agreement with New Edge Networks, ClearPath will be able to expand the reach of its managed network services product family to business customers in more than 360 small and midsize cities in 29 states.
