Procket

Cisco Systems, Inc., today announced it has completed the purchase of assets from privately held Procket Networks, Inc. of Milpitas, Calif., a developer of concurrent services routers with expertise in silicon and software development.

On June 17, 2004, Cisco announced a definitive agreement to purchase the intellectual property and select other assets, and hire a majority of the engineering team from Procket. This purchase adds a rich intellectual property portfolio and a team of proven silicon and software architects to Cisco's industry leading routing technology and products.

Parc

Cisco Systems, Inc., today announced it has completed the acquisition of privately held Parc Technologies, Ltd. of London, United Kingdom.

On July 8, 2004, Cisco announced a definitive agreement to acquire Parc Technologies, which develops traffic engineering (TE) solutions and software for routing optimization. Parc was a spin off from a renowned center for research into search algorithms based at Imperial College, University of London. Initially, Parc's technology will be used by Cisco in planning and optimization tools for Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) TE.
