PLANO, Texas -- MetaSolv Software, Inc., a global leader in comprehensive service fulfillment solutions for next-generation communications service providers, today announced that Cellcom Israel, the leading telecommunications operator in Israel, has selected MetaSolv’s IP service activation solution to provision mobile convergent access services across their extensive MPLS VPN network.

“After extensive testing and research, we selected MetaSolv’s IP service activation solution because of its comprehensive, out of the box feature set coupled with its flexible and scalable architecture that will easily allow us to activate additional services as we grow,” said David Ittah, Director of OSS at Cellcom. “The ability to automate provisioning for complex VPN services across our multi-vendor IP-based infrastructure allows us to continually expand our service offering and maintain our commitment to customer service excellence.”

Cellcom is Israel's largest wireless operator with more than 2.5 million subscribers. Cellcom was the first to launch a GSM/GPRS network in Israel, in addition to its TDMA infrastructure.

MetaSolv's IP service activation solution provides Cellcom with a single software platform to streamline the management of the series of tasks necessary to deliver real-time, dynamic services. Automating network configuration processes for MPLS-based VPNs helps reduce operational costs, speeds time to market, and significantly reduces order errors and order fallout.

MetaSolv's IP activation capabilities enable rapid and efficient provisioning of complex IP services, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 MPLS-based VPNs, Virtual Private LANs (VPLS), Traffic Engineering Paths and IP Quality of Service, over large-scale, multi-vendor and multi-OS IP networks. MetaSolv delivers high-reliability activation through stateful service management, network auto-discovery and synchronization, as well as sophisticated policy-based configuration management. MetaSolv’s multi-vendor, multi-service activation capabilities have been deployed by more than 70 operators in over 25 countries for an array of services including Voice, VoIP, DSL, ATM, Frame Relay, Optical and IP.

MetaSolv is working with Netcom, the Systems Integrator for this deployment. Netcom specializes in organizational end-to-end networking solutions.

“MetaSolv's global IP VPN activation leadership and market-proven mobile solutions are key considerations for large service providers such as Cellcom,” said David Sharpley, MetaSolv’s senior vice president of marketing and product management. “By leveraging MetaSolv’s extensive experience in deploying large-scale VPNs, operators can speed activation times and decrease time to market for new services while at the same time reducing their operating costs.”
