LONDON -- Incatel, a leading provider of network and service inventory software for end-to-end provisioning, announced today that Belgacom SA, Belgium's incumbent operator, has chosen Incatel's NIMS to support the planning, deployment and graphical inventory of their advanced fiber network. Replacing existing graphical paper documents and some other legacy systems, NIMS will provide a solution that covers both access and backbone optical outside plant. "Incatel's NIMS was a solution that could meet Belgacom's immediate broad and complex requirements" stated Xavier Hanus, Director Network Innovation & Strategy department of Belgacom. "NIMS will be key in supporting our strategy of deploying fiber networks to provide next generation broadband services across Belgium." Incatel's NIMS is a state-of-the-art and proven inventory and provisioning solution that offers an end-to-end network view that encompasses assets both physical (such as equipment and cables) and logical (circuits and services). Xavier Hanus says: "In the first instance, Belgacom will be using NIMS to document graphically the Optical Outside Plant with its pipes infrastructure, as well as cables and individual fibers. This solution replaces a multitude of graphical documents, and gives us a view on our installations on a national level on a continuous map." Incatel Ltd.
