AT&T Broadband completes upgrade of its digital network in Plano, Texas, enabling high-speed cable Internet service

IRVING, Texas -- AT&T Broadband announced today that it has completed the upgrade of its digital network in Plano. With the completion of construction, AT&T Broadband now offers cable Internet Service throughout the city, featuring high-speed access to the Internet with a download speed up to 3 Mbps and an upload speed up to 384 kbps with the UltraLink service. Standard download speeds are still blazingly fast at up to 1.5 MB with upload speeds at up to 256 kbps. In addition, AT&T Broadband's cable Internet service provides a customizable browser, 24-hour unlimited use for a flat monthly fee, multiple email accounts, personal Web Space, 24/7 technical support, search and navigation tools, chat and newsgroup access, personal firewall protection, and the ability to connect up to five computers to a single modem. A new feature available to AT&T Broadband customers is our Remote Access solution. In partnership with PeoplePC, and for a one-time $10 registration fee, customers on the go will receive two hours of dial-up access each month. Customers can also purchase additional connection time on an as needed basis.
