Agilent, Marconi Team on MPLS

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that it has licensed an extensive set of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) tests from industry leader Marconi plc. The test scripts speed automated, comprehensive testing of conformance to the IETF’s MPLS RSVP Traffic Engineering (TE) protocol standards and provide service providers and network equipment manufacturers with the industry’s most comprehensive and detailed MPLS RSVP-TE conformance test solution. MPLS signaling protocols with TE extensions allow service providers to optimize use of available resources by routing traffic flows based on network conditions, such as congestion, bandwidth requirements and traffic priority.The 375 scripts, created by Marconi for use on Agilent’s RouterTester platform, will be incorporated into Agilent’s MPLS conformance test suite software, bringing the total number of test cases included to more than 700.
