IRVINE, Calif. -- Entridia, a leading provider of Network Processing ASICs for Optical Networks, today announced Rhapsody(TM), a fully configurable wire-speed OC-192c stream processing ASIC targeted at Edge and Core Routing platforms. Leveraging the company's prior experience and numerous design wins with their OC-3c/OC-12, and OC-48c family of packet processing ASICs, this sixth member of Entridia's NetASIC family incorporates both OC-192c Packet-over-Sonet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet network interfaces for multi-protocol routers. Rhapsody guarantees sustained 10 Gbps wire-speed performance on a single, low-power device. "Rhapsody is the logical extension to the industry's first dual OC-48c, wire-speed packet processing engine that Entridia demonstrated at Supercomm last June," said Paramesh Gopi, president, CEO, and co-founder of Entridia Corp. "With the outstanding scalability of our architecture, our customers can reap significant costs and time-to-market advantages with our wire-speed ASIC and simple API versus the substantial software development efforts of a instruction-based network processor design." Entridia Corp.
