SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- ElectriPHY Corporation, a leading provider of advanced IC devices that accelerate broadband access, today announced the Phybrwire Series of Very high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) chipset products. The release of the Phybrwire families marks a milestone event in the broadband market with the world’s first implementation of Dynamic Spectrum Management (DSM) at price points previously thought unachievable with VDSL. Enabled with DSM, the Phybrwire Series provides up to 150 Mbps aggregate performance, the lowest power consumption available (<1.0W/port), long reach performance (up to 5Km) and tremendous integration and flexibility, enabling equipment vendors to create a common platform to satisfy worldwide requirements – significantly reducing their cost to address multiple markets.

“ElectriPHY is delivering the most advanced VDSL solution on the market today,” said Ray Farnham, CEO of ElectriPHY. “Carriers can finally deliver the latest triple-play services utilizing their vast investment in the existing copper wire infrastructure. Carriers worldwide will realize higher Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), lower customer churn and higher return on investment because of the new services ElectriPHY’s solution enables them to deliver.”

"The innovations in performance, power, reach, and integration in ElectriPHY's VDSL chipsets make them a must-see for carriers and equipment vendors looking to deliver future voice, video, and data services in a timely and economical manner,” said Michael Howard, principal analyst and co-founder, Infonetics Research.

Dynamic Spectrum Management Technology – Reliable PerformanceDynamic Spectrum Management (DSM) technology enables the VDSL Physical Layer (PHY) engine to identify external noise on the line, such as crosstalk, and to dynamically adjust the frequency spectrum within a specified band plan. This adaptive capability allows the VDSL PHY to continuously optimize the performance of the line to accommodate the constantly changing line conditions. The resulting benefit is higher performance.

To enable its devices with DSM, ElectriPHY has employed a unique systematic approach of developing advanced algorithms and a highly optimized silicon architecture that incorporates popular board level features in silicon. With the Phybrwire Series, equipment vendors will deliver products that provide the highest level of performance and line reliability.

Phybrwire Series - The VDSL solution for delivery of triple play services

The Phybrwire Series is made up of the Phybrwire 400 and Phybrwire 100 families. The Phybrwire 400 family is a 2-chip solution, comprised of a 4-port Advanced Digital Transceiver (ADX) and a 4-port Analog Front End (AFE). It implements 4-bands of standards compliant VDSL and is intended for traffic aggregation devices such as DSLAMS, Optical Networking Units (ONUs), Access Concentrators and NGDLCs.

The Phybrwire 100 family is also a 2-chip solution utilizing both an ADX, AFE combination which have been optimized for single-port 4-band VDSL operation. The family is targeted for applications that require low to medium traffic aggregation – ideal for Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) Residential Gateways and LAN extension deployments.
