ElectriPHY Honors VDSL Standard

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- ElectriPHY Corporation, a leading provider of silicon solutions for accelerating broadband access, today announced its VDSL chipsets are fully compliant to the recently announced G.993.1 standard for Very-high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL). The International Telecommunications Union-Telecommunications Standards Sector (ITU-T) announced agreement to the new standard on May 11, 2004 (ITU press release available at: http://www.itu.int/newsroom/press_releases/2004/08.html).

ElectriPHY is targeting the fastest growing segment of the wired telecommunications market with VDSL-QAM technology. VDSL-QAM provides equipment vendors and service providers the highest level of performance at the lowest possible cost for delivering "triple-play" services (voice, video and data).

ElectriPHY has developed key advantages in VDSL that enable equipment vendors to create single platform designs for multiple target markets while providing greater than 100 Mbps bandwidth over standard unshielded twisted copper pairs (UTP). Primary target markets for VDSL include Multi-Tenant/Multi-Dwelling Unit (MxU), Fiber-to-the-Home/Premise/Curb (FTTH/FTTP/FTTC), Central Office (CO), Optical Network Unit (ONU) and Campus/In-Building LAN extension.
