LITTLETON, Colo. -- DataAccess America Inc., the wholly owned subsidiary of Data Access (India) Ltd., the fastest growing international long distance carrier in India, today announced the appointment of Joel Crisman as director of carrier sales and Brian Harrington as director of business development. Crisman and Harrington are responsible for the growth and management of DataAccess America’s wholesale data and voice business, as well as developing opportunities in enterprise and prepaid service offerings in the United States.

“In just a few short months, we have already succeeded in filling much of the capacity in our New York switching center. Expanding our U.S.-based team is critical to the continued and rapid success of our aggressive partnership and expansion goals,” said Ashutosh Misra, president and CEO of DataAccess America. “Joel and Brian’s knowledge and success in developing carrier relationships and sales are ideally matched to our domestic partnership and service objectives.”

Crisman joins DataAccess America from Bellsouth Long Distance where he was responsible for acquiring new international and wholesale telecommunications carrier customers. He has extensive experience selling voice and data products for carriers including BellSouth, ComTech International, Justice Telecom and Qwest.

Harrington is responsible for marketing and new business development. Prior to joining DataAccess America, he was responsible for management and revenue generation for tier-one carrier customers at Dynamicsoft, where he oversaw the implementation of one of the industry’s first entirely SIP-based networks. He has provided sales and marketing leadership in a variety of roles at companies including ICG Communications, a local telephone service provider in Denver, as well as MSHOW.com, and Imark Communications.

DataAccess America’s New York switch has direct routes to over 200 countries across the world through 84 carrier interconnects across nine network operating centers. The North American operation has the capability of connecting direct traffic from eight aggregation points across the United States, three aggregation points across Canada and 24 other aggregation points across the world.
