NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Conexant Systems Inc. today announced a 3.125 Gbps SERDES transceiver with built in clock and data recovery (CDR), 8B/10B encoding and a flexible parallel interface. The SkyRail CX27201 can operate from 1 Gbps to 3.125 Gbps and is ideal for board-to-board interconnect through coaxial, twisted pair, optical cable and backplanes. The low power complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) device requires no external components and allows for a high-level of system integration and port densities. The parallel interface is extremely flexible and is designed to accommodate a variety of system architectures. The SkyRail CX27201 can interface to single or double data rate (DDR) parallel interfaces of 8B/10B encoded or non-encoded data. The SkyRail device is compatible with 802.3z Gigabit Ethernet and ANSI X3T11 Fibre Channel standards and is interoperable with InfiniBand and Serial ATA compliant devices.
