DALLAS -- Cogent Communications (Amex: COI), a tier-one optical ISP, has expanded its network reach through a co-location arrangement with Colo4-Dallas, a carrier-neutral facility based in Dallas. The agreement enhances Cogent's ability to provide radically-priced, ultra high-speed Internet connectivity as well as long haul and metropolitan data transport services to its carrier, service provider and commercial end-user customer base. To accommodate Cogent's potential clients and their space requirements, Colo4-Dallas is adding half and full racks to its product line. This will allow web hosting and online applications companies with small servers but high bandwidth needs to house equipment at a fraction of the cost of a whole rack or cabinet. In addition, Colo4-Dallas has caged off a dedicated section for this type of client for added security. The Cogent agreement supports Colo4-Dallas' business model of bringing companies together. "To date, every carrier that has built into our facility has received at least one customer through a referral from Colo4-Dallas," explained Paul VanMeter, president and CTO of Colo4-Dallas. "Our decision to offer smaller rack space will continue to assist Cogent's new business efforts." Cogent Communications Inc.
