Civcom Tackles DCM

PETAH-TIKVA, Israel -- Civcom(r) (www.civcom.com), a pioneer in the development and manufacturing of Opto-electronic components and modules is launching a new product at the ECOC 2006 Expo (Booth # 684), Civcom's Free-Path Manageable Dispersion Compensation Module (M-DCM), a new manageable DCF replacement designed for Metro-Regional DWDM networks.

Civcom's M-DCM incorporates the most innovative dispersion tolerance optical technology available today. Inside a small package, measuring less than half the size available in the market today, Civcom incorporated an etalon based in-house TODC technology allowing a significant step forward in the design and operation of the module. The M-DCM module is used to compensate for chromatic dispersion value ranging from -1700ps/nm to +1700ps/nm, using in-house intellectual properties.

The M-DCM adds significant enhancements to the network by lowering the insertion loss, lowering power consumption and providing manageability. Focused on improving performance, extending operating range and lowering costs, the M-DCM reduces in-line amplification requirements and allows remote managing of dispersion while using a single part number as a substitute to multiple DCF part numbers. With its high reliability, stable performance and wide dynamic range, the M-DCM is Multi-channel and is well suited for metropolitan networks across the entire C-band.
