CDNetworks Joins Equinix

FRANKFURT, Germany -- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the leading global provider of network-neutral datacentres and Internet exchange services, and DE-CIX, the main exchange point for Internet services in Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, today announced that CDNetworks, one of the largest global content delivery networks (CDN), has joined the DE-CIX exchange at Equinix.

This announcement follows the agreement announced last year to extend the DE-CIX peering infrastructure into the Equinix Frankfurt-2 (FR2) Internet Business Exchange (IBX®) datacentre located in the northern part of Frankfurt. The service enables CDNetworks, and other DE-CIX customers to access Equinix’s premium colocation services. Similarly, Equinix customers joining DE-CIX can directly exchange traffic, or “peer,” with the extensive DE-CIX customer base of over 260 companies, increasing reliability, improving performance, and reducing the costs of network traffic exchange.

With more than 60 content acceleration nodes globally, CDNetworks’ network coverage extends across the Americas and Europe, throughout Asia and other major areas. CDNetworks’ services help customers around the globe significantly improve reliability and Internet performance by accelerating delivery of static, dynamic, and video content.
