OTTAWA -- Plaintree Systems Inc. (Plaintree) (TSE: LAN; OTC BB: LANPF), a developer and manufacturer of Free Space Optical (FSO) communications products, today announced that it has received an immediate $215,000 CDN order for its legacy WaveSwitch products. Plaintree began operations in 1988 as a switching company that gained a reputation for very robust and reliable products. The company entered the FSO market in the spring of 2000 while continuing to support its switching customers. "This customer has been using Plaintree switches for years and it is a great testament to the switch design that this company and others have continued to purchase legacy products and are interested in acquiring more," said David Watson, Plaintree's President and Chief Executive Officer. "As we have stated before, the Plaintree switching line is an asset of the company and we will continue to search for opportunities to sell our existing inventories. We will also manufacture to meet any orders where price and volume make it a profitable exercise." Plaintree Systems Inc.
