Catena Networks names cofounder Jim Hjartarson as president and CEO

KANATA, Ontario -- Catena Networks, a leading provider of integrated broadband access solutions, today announced that its board of directors has named Jim Hjartarson president & CEO of the four-year-old company.Hjartarson, 46, co-founded Catena in December 1998 and was the company’s first chief executive officer. He had served as acting president and CEO of Catena since April 2002.During his tenure, Hjartarson has recruited a seasoned executive team and grown the company from a small, technology start-up to a volume systems provider with extensive operations. He also has helped Catena secure U.S. $192 million in venture capital and develop innovative core technology and products, which have enabled carriers to greatly accelerate their delivery of broadband DSL services."Jim’s dedication, leadership and strategic vision have helped Catena set itself apart from other providers in the broadband access market," said Joe Costello, chairman of Catena’s board of directors and chairman & CEO of think3, a 3-D mechanical design software company.
