CARRINGTON, N.D. -- Dakota Central Telecommunications Cooperative, a 60 year telecommunicationscompany in South Central North Dakota, has decided to change their IPTV Middleware platform to theInnovative Systems Middleware solution powered by the APMAX™.

DCT built their video head end in 2004 and were one of the first Telco’s in the nation to deliver IPTVand today they serve approximately five thousand subscribers. DCT General Manager, Keith Larsonoffers this advice to IPTV newcomers, “Finding qualified people to maintain your system, especially inthe head-end and picking a stable middleware provider should be two of your high rankingconsiderations.”

In regards to choosing Innovative Systems for their new middleware provider, Larson adds, “The abilityto run the middleware on the same platform that we are currently using for our voice services was anadvantage both technically and economically. The final piece that made sense for DCT is the VirtualRemote™, that lets our service center staff take control of the customer’s STB without having to send atruck out, in some cases fifty miles or more. We believe this functionality will save us a lot of moneyover the long haul.”
