Terawave Demos PON System

DENVER -- Terawave Communications, Inc., a leading supplier of PON-based networking solutions, today announced expansion of its product portfolio to support speeds ranging from 155 Mbps to 80 Gbps. Terawave's patented high-speed ASICs capability, combined with DWDM scaling, makes Terawave's portfolio the most comprehensive multi-speed PON in the marketplace. Terawave's multi-speed PON platform allows the 155 Mbps and 622 Mbps PON cards to be mixed in the Terawave OLTs (Optical Line Terminals) to satisfy variations in building density, distances and bandwidth per building. Like Terawave's 622 Mbps system, the 155 Mbps system also leverages the patented TeraPON(TM) technology suite and thus achieves the advantages associated with VirtualPON(TM), RepeaterPON(TM), SALSA(TM) and iWDM(TM).
