STOCKHOLM -- Net Insight (SX: NET I B), a leading provider of video, voice and data networking equipment, today announced the Nimbra 340-HD (High Definition) switched multi-service access solution for live broadcasts plus studio production and contribution. Housed in a slim 2 RU device, it is the first uncompressed transport solution that can be deployed in any network topology supporting both the U.S. and European versions of HD-SDI.

Nimbra 340-HD allows broadcasters to distribute uncompressed HD in a wide range of content services, from Live-HD broadcasting of sports and stadium events to pre-taped studio production and contribution. It handles bandwidths for these applications with unsurpassed flexibility by allocating with strict quality-of-service, independent of the network load. This results in much higher utilization of the infrastructure without loss of QoS.

Unlike other products that can only do HD-SDI point-to-point, Nimbra 340-HD supports point to multi-point distribution of video, data and voice in a flexible, topology independent manner with guaranteed QoS. Moreover, it combines the cost-effectiveness of fixed Gigabit Ethernet and HD-SDI ports with the flexibility of optional plug-in units for services such as PDH, SDI, or ASI.

Nimbra 340-HD is also interoperable with the larger Nimbra One series of products for central office applications, and supports automated end-to-end provisioning and re-routing resilience against network faults, including extensive fault and performance monitoring and hot swap of interfaces.

"With the accelerating use of HD we now experience a growing demand for a multi-service access switch that can transport uncompressed HD over any network topology," said Tomas Duffy, CEO of Net Insight. "Now with the launch of the Nimbra 340-HD, Net Insight is filling an important gap in the market."

STOCKHOLM -- Net Insight (SX: NET I B), a leading provider of video, voice and data networking equipment, today announced the introduction of a high density 8-port DVB-ASI Transport Access Module that enables digital multimedia transport in broadcast, distribution, and contribution networks. Installed in a Nimbra One or Nimbra 340 switch, the 8x ASI Transport Access Module delivers extremely cost-efficient video transport with guaranteed QoS properties, in a networked environment. The 8x ASI Transport Access Module will be ready for delivery during the first quarter of 2006.

The new module meets broadcaster's stringent demands of video transport for a broad variety of applications, including DVB-T broadcasting, distribution in HFC networks, and professional studio-to-studio contribution. The unique configurable bandwidth feature of the ASI module enables secure MPEG streams of 2-200 Mbps to be transported in either transmit or receive direction precisely with the bandwidth needed by the broadcaster.

The new module is ideal for use in production, post-production and broadcast environments. With multicast functionality, it is also delivers point-to-multipoint distribution of high quality content, and includes built-in network redundancy and support for external 1+1 protection. It is fully compatible with the 2 in + 2 out ASI module and with the built-in ASI ports in the Nimbra 340. It supports in-service hot swap for higher availability, and offers extensive fault and performance monitoring options.

"The 8-port DVB-ASI Transport Access Module radically improves cost-effectiveness for high quality multimedia and enables more compact solutions," said Bengt Hellström, Director Product Marketing of Net Insight. "We are pleased to be able to offer our broadcast customers high quality multimedia transport in our most popular interface."

STOCKHOLM -- Digita, the Finnish operator of the national network for digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) is one of the worldwide pioneers within DVB-T and with vast know-how and experience from various DVB-T network solutions. Digita has now chosen Net Insight's Nimbra platform to cover northern Finland. The network is operational since summer 2005.

"We are very impressed by the functionality of Net Insight's solution. It is cost-efficient, scalable, and easy to manage as well as it guarantees 100% quality of service. That's why we chose a new technology vendor for the latest build out of our network." says Pekka Mattila, CTO of Digita.

DVB-T is a standard for distribution of digital terrestrial TV signals over-the-air via terrestrial antennas. DVB-T gives broadcasting companies the chance to broadcast up to four programs over a conventional channel. In addition, other information, such as radio programs and program-independent data services, can also be transmitted.

Net insights solution further optimizes the transport layer, both in terms of higher utilization and lower OPEX and CAPEX.

"The market for DVB-T network solutions is growing in many countries now when the digitalization of TV networks is accelerating. Our DVB-T solution enables the most cost-efficient transport of data and video", says Tomas Duffy, CEO of Net Insight.
