SALEM, NH -- Lightchip, Inc. announced the introduction of its family of optical networking products -- the Versalight product suite. Versalight products provide flexible wavelength routing and optical management solutions that enhance the transparency of optical networks.

The Versalight Optical Wavelength Router (OWR) is fully interchangeable for multiplexing or demultiplexing 16, 32 or 40 channels on the ITU grid with 100 GHz spacing. The module provides full bi-directionality in a cost-effective 2U shelf-level package.

The Versalight Optical Add/Drop (OAD) node is designed for adding or dropping channels on the ITU grid with 100GHz spacing for 16, 32 or 40 channel networks. It provides extremely high performance and is fully reconfigurable, allowing rapid adding or dropping of any channel without the need for additional modules.

The Versalight Optical Performance Manager (OPM) rapidly provides precise measurements of both the optical power and the wavelength for every channel. The Versalight OPM has an ultra-high dynamic range of 60dB, enabling monitoring of optical channels independent of channel variations of transport power. In addition, the modules' extremely high optical power sensitivity permits optical performance monitoring with negligible effect on the signal power. A variety of interfaces are available to enable operation with installed network monitoring and control systems.
