C-COR Unveils S2R Node
C-COR introduces the S2R Single Output Node as low-cost solution to drive broadband services deeper into the network

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- C-COR.net Corp. (Nasdaq:CCBL), a global provider of broadband communications products, software systems, and services, today announced the introduction of the S2R Single Output Node. The S2R, in combination with C-COR's CHP Max5000 Converged Headend Platform, offers a system solution to launch HSD, VOD, PVR, and VoIP deeper into the HFC network for broadband network operators who want to limit expenditures on fiber or have limited installed fiber from the headend or hub to the node. The features of the S2R that drive its cost benefit to the operator include:
GaAs technology that enables high-level RF outputs and gain, thereby flexible, accommodating system design variations with fewer actives per mile.
1550 CWDM return transmitter option that facilitates daisy-chaining multiple S2R nodes to reduce fiber count and lower expenditures in return optical receivers. -- Compact size that, combined with C-COR's 2RU, 10-slot CHP Max5000 Converged Headend Platform, can save 25 to 150 percent of headend/hub rack space.
Drop-in upgrades using C-COR's popular modular housings for a low-cost and compact solution in existing strand or pedestal installations.
C-COR will have the S2R Node on display in its Booth #2901 at the CCTA (California Cable & Telecommunications Association) Broadband Plus 2002 Show in Anaheim, California on December 3-6, 2002. C-COR's S2R will be available for shipment during the first half of calendar year 2003. C-COR.net
