MINNEAPOLIS -- APA Cables & Networks (APACN), a leader in fiber management solutions and wholly owned subsidiary of APA Enterprises (NASDAQ: APAT), today announced that Atlantic Telephone Membership Corporation (ATMC) of Brunswick County, North Carolina has selected APACN’s Fiber Scalability Center, the Company’s line of OSP cabinets for ATMC’s Fiber-to-the Premise-Networks (FTTP). ATMC is installing the system to over 10,000 access lines and that number will continue to grow as new developments are added to their service area.

The APACN product line was chosen by ATMC because of the platform’s "grow-as-you-go" cost design. “The modularity of the product’s design is evidence that APA Cables & Networks understands the unique requirements of the independent telephone provider,” explained Larry Clemmons, vice president of network and plant operations for ATMC. “We are deploying FTTP not only for the triple play of voice, video and data, but because it supports the higher bandwidth that our customers are looking for. With APACN, we could offer that functionality one development at a time without compromising the integrity of the overall network design.”

APACN’s product line was provided to ATMC by Power & Telephone Supply Company, headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, an independent distributor of material for the telecommunications and cable TV industries. Installed alongside APACN in this application, were products from Motorola.

Engineered around APACN's Fiber Distribution System, each cabinet within the Fiber Scalability Center platform utilizes field-tested designs to maximize bend radius protection, connector access, ease of cable routing and physical protection. APACN’s line of fiber management solutions has been designed to the full range of Telcordia’s demanding telecommunications standards, and to the unique requirements of FTTP installations championed by today’s innovative independent telephone, television and municipal networks.
