DULUTH, Ga. -- ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS) is leading the way in providing highly scalable, commercially viable PacketCable-based Voice over IP solutions. As of March 30th, 2003, ARRIS had conducted ongoing interoperability testing with 16 VoIP Call Management Servers (CMS) and LCS Gateways with its Cadant C4 CMTS and Touchstone e-MTAs. This has resulted in the successful completion of 52 VoIP and High Speed Data trials worldwide with ARRIS DOCSIS 1.1 certified and PacketCable-based products. The knowledge gained from this on-going effort enables ARRIS to provide operators with complete end-to-end PacketCable-based networks. The ARRIS Interoperability Testing Labs test interoperability, robustness and scalability of VoIP and High Speed Data access solutions in a real world environment. Its 200 km of video-loaded HFC plant, Class 5 switches, Softswitches, Gateways and provisioning systems are capable of running approximately 20,000 Cable Modems and Embedded Media Terminal Adapters (e-MTA) simultaneously in order to test any solution to scale, years before operators can reach deep penetration rates in the field, which virtually eliminates deployment risks. ARRIS Verification Testing, coupled with the ARRIS Solution Assurance Program and comprehensive 7x24 technical support service, form the foundation that supports an installed base of over 3.6 million HFC telephony lines worldwide.“For the remainder of 2003 and beyond, ARRIS intends to continue interoperability testing with leading PacketCable-based equipment vendors and expects to convert several of the current trials into full scale commercial deployments,” noted Bob Eng, ARRIS Director of Network Solutions.
