Werner Pekarek will be vice president, subsystems manufacturing

SAN DIEGO -- OMM, Inc., a leading supplier of photonic switching subsystems based on MEMS technology, today announced the appointment of Werner Pekarek as vice president, subsystems manufacturing. The hiring comes as the company increases its focus on switch subsystems that will enable communications equipment manufacturers to build large-scale optical cross-connect systems. Pekarek joins from Siemens, where he served as vice president of manufacturing. His experience includes manufacturing leadership positions in telecommunications switching systems as well as high-volume production of desktop, wireless and cordless phones. As an international executive, Pekarek ran fully integrated manufacturing facilities in Florida, Texas, Brazil, Germany and Portugal.
