8x8 adds Packet8 voice and videophone numbers in New Hampshire and Rhode Island
January 20, 2004
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- 8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq: EGHT), the broadband voice and video communications service provider, today announced the immediate availability of Packet8 voice and videophone numbers in New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Packet8 now offers more than 1,900 rate centers in the United States from which a Packet8 voice or videophone subscriber anywhere in the world can choose a telephone number. A Packet8 subscriber's telephone number is not related to the geographic location of a Packet8 subscriber, and like cell phones, Packet8 telephone numbers will follow the Packet8 subscriber wherever in the world the customer accesses the Internet.
"Although Packet8's most popular calling plans allow customers to make unlimited telephone calls to any number in the United States or Canada, it is essential for Packet8 to continue to offer subscribers as many telephone numbers as possible so the people who call them the most can also benefit from Packet8 services," said Barry Andrews, President of 8x8.
