COLUMBIA, Md. -- Optical networking start-up, Trellis Photonics,today said it will close its US headquarters here effective immediately.The company manufactures products based on its award-winningElectroholography(tm) technology, an all-optical switching technology usedin high-speed, high-capacity fiber optic networks. Company President, Elon Littwitz, said "Current market conditions,including the slowdown in capital expenditure for emerging technologies, andthe delay in a viable market for all-optical switching, require that were-evaluate our plans for when we will bring our technology into themarketplace." The closing affects the company's sales and marketing organizationsat its Columbia facility.
