A Nokia sale of mobile, especially to the US, would be nuts
Nokia's hiring of Intel's Justin Hotard to be its new CEO has set tongues wagging again about a mobile exit, but it would look counterintuitive and inadvisable.
Coventor intros a conversion program to help former IntelliSense customers upgrade to CoventorWare MEMS development software
October 13, 2003
CARY, N.C. -- In light of a recent announcement by Corning Inc. to shut down its IntelliSense software division, Coventor Inc. has developed a conversion program to assist IntelliSense customers to upgrade from IntelliSuiteÔ to CoventorWareÔ MEMS development software. The conversion offer includes a software replacement upgrade with enhanced MEMS design capabilities, training and support. Coventor has already transitioned numerous customers from Intellisuite to CoventorWare, quickly and easily.
“The MEMS industry is showing strong demand right now. However, the news about Corning IntelliSense may be disconcerting to some MEMS developers who rely on the stability of software companies for their product development,” said V.P. of World Wide Sales, Dave Cook. “Coventor would like to provide an option to these customers by offering them a software upgrade and long term vendor security. CoventorWare is the most widely installed software in the MEMS and microfluidics industry, and we have a profitable business foundation to support these new customers.”
CoventorWare is a comprehensive replacement package for IntelliSense, IntelliSuite software with enhancements that go beyond standard 3D modeling. In addition to providing standard design tools, CoventorWare provides an additional bundle of scalable MEMS design tools including sophisticated coupled electromechanics modeling, unique schematic-driven behavioral simulation and analysis, and comprehensive pre- and post-process capabilities. ConventorWare also provides finite element method (FEM) to behavior modeling compatible with Synopsys and Cadence programs.
Coventor is the leader in MEMS development software and has proven its success through a primary focus on software and design rather than manufacturing or fabrication. Coventor software is installed in more than 150 companies and more than 200 universities worldwide.
