Broadcom appoints Andrew Pease of Syntricity as VP of worldwide sales

IRVINE, Calif. -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM - News) today announced the appointment of Andrew J. Pease to the position of Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Mr. Pease, 52, who has served for more than 20 years in senior sales positions at a number of high technology companies, comes to Broadcom from San Diego-based Syntricity Inc., where he was Vice President of Sales. He joined Syntricity, a company focused on providing semiconductor companies with software and services to better manage their yields and improve design-to- volume-production processes, in 2000. From 1984 to 1996, Mr. Pease served in a number of sales positions at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), the global semiconductor manufacturer, where his last assignment was Group Director, Worldwide Headquarters Sales and Operations in Sunnyvale, Calif. He held vice president of sales positions at two other Sunnyvale-based companies, Integrated Systems Inc., an embedded software manufacturer (1996-1997), and Vantis Corporation (a wholly-owned subsidiary of AMD), a programmable logic semiconductor company (1997-1999). A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a master's degree in computer science from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., Mr. Pease served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator from 1974 to 1982, holding a variety of leadership positions related to the operations of anti-submarine warfare aircraft deployment. "Andy is a seasoned sales professional with superb global industry knowledge, leadership skills and business relationships," said Alan E. "Lanny" Ross, Broadcom's President and CEO.
