PARIS -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced that Nayatel (Pvt) Ltd. is preparing to deploy the first gigabit passive optical network (GPON) in Pakistan; to provide its customers with the most advanced triple-play services - such as high-definition television, innovative telephony services and ultraband Internet access. Nayatel’s Pakistani customers can expect the new network to be up and running by the end of 2009.
