Launches Biznet Metro fiber-to-the-home network using Siemens Surpass gear

JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Biznet, Indonesia's premium ISP and data center provider, has launched new FTTH (Fiber To The Home), based on Siemens Surpass hiX 5404 – Optical Network Termination (ONT) and Siemens SURPASS hiX 5430: Optical Line Termination (OLT) GE-PON (Gigabit Ethernet – Passive Optical Network) technology to meet both business and residential customer demand for high-performance, high-bandwidth business applications.

"FTTH technology has matured and proved to be successful deployment in some countries. Biznet would like to be one of the leading Broadband Internet providers in Indonesia and to deliver this huge bandwidth; we need a technology that is robust, flexible and reliable. We have researched GEPON technology since year 2006 and select this technology to be our last mile solution for our network. This FTTH network also will be the heart of our NGN (Next Generation Network) network," said Adi Kusma, President Director of Biznet. "We are delighted to become the first FTTH operator that operates in Indonesia and South East Asia. The first test area will be in Melawai area, Jakarta – Indonesia. Other areas in Jakarta are currently under construction."

Biznet offers several services using Biznet Metro FTTH Network such as: Biznet MetroNET – Business Internet Access service, Biznet MetroNET Home – Residential Internet Access service and MetroWAN – Local Loop service. Biznet Metro FTTH also designed to deliver Triple Play services such as Data (Internet/Intranet), Voice (VoIP) and Video (Interactive TV and Multimedia) on single network infrastructure.
