PARIS -- CIRPACK, a developer of next generation voice switches for operators’ infrastructures, today announced it saw its position as one of the leading vendor of Class-5 softswitch solutions confirmed by Dittberner Associates’ latest quarterly Worldwide NGN Research Program which ranks it the second largest supplier with 26% of the EMEA VoIP softswitch market.

“Cirpack gained considerable market share during the third quarter of the year,” stated Lilian Tau, vice president, Dittberner Associates Inc. “Its carrier-class public telephony switches cut the time-to-market for competitive new telephony applications, allowing carriers to expand market share and build new revenue streams.”

During the third quarter of 2004, Cirpack saw accelerating adoption of its voice switching platform by alternative operators and internet service providers all across Western and Central Europe. Cirpack doubled its customer base, its revenue and profit over the first three quarters of 2004 and now has 40 customers in 12 different countries. This represents a total of 1.2 million Class-5 licences, with some operators delivering primary line services with Cirpack switches supporting up to 260,000 subscribers each.

"As telecom service providers are now investing again in their voice switching infrastructure, our long-term strategy to focus our efforts on R&D and customer satisfaction over the last 7 years is now baring fruits," said Jean-Pierre Dumolard, Cirpack’s CEO. "Cirpack has designed a complete voice switching solution that is becoming the heart of the PSTN in several countries. With our global network of sales partner such as IBM, Telindus and TTC among others, Cirpack is in a very strong position going forward."
