C-COR introduces digital program/ad insertion (DPI) server using Gigabit Ethernet technology

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq:CCBL - News), a global provider of interoperable network solutions for the IP era that include access and digital transport products, software systems, and technical services, today announced the immediate availability of a new digital program/ad insertion (DPI) server using Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) technology. C-COR's GigE DPI solution, the next generation in advanced advertising, includes the largest advertising insertion servers built to date. Capable of inserting advertising into nearly 2,000 channels from a single server, this highly scalable solution is specifically designed for centralized Gigabit Ethernet network layouts and incorporates redundancy and high-availability features to support the need for continuous uptime and uninterrupted advertising revenue flow, while reducing cost per channel and transport costs for the operator.
Developed by C-COR Solutions, one of the Company's three complementary business units, GigE DPI runs on C-COR's scalable video streaming platform and uses C-COR's SkyVision management system.
