AUSTIN, Texas -- Wintegra(tm) Inc., a fabless semiconductor company enabling the next generation of access networks, announced that it is shipping its WinPath(tm) Evaluation Boards (WEB) to decrease development time for its highly integrated WinPath access packet processor. An evaluation board, such as the WEB, provides customers developing products based on WinPath with a "real-world" evaluation platform that can then reduce costs by saving on development and design time. To assist customers in developing their applications, Wintegra has over 100 example applications that can be run on the WEB's APIs (Application Programming Interface) showing various types of configurations possible with WinPath, as well as various demonstration packages for either WEB version. These examples, with various combinations of IP, Ethernet, HDLC and ATM, highlight the extensive protocols supported, which number greater than any other network solution and eliminates the need for extensive user programming. Two of the most popular demonstration packages are the OC-12 to Gigabit Ethernet and the Gigabit Ethernet to quad OC-3 packages. "With a fully functional evaluation board such as WEB, designers can quickly customize their software for their specific product requirements," said Robert O'Dell, Wintegra's vice president of marketing. "Development time is further cut with WinPath's ready-to-use resident protocols, providing performance guarantees and quick time to market." Wintegra Inc.
