Transparent Hires Kong

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Transparent Networks, Inc., developer of intelligent photonic switching systems, announced today the appointment of Dr. John Kong as Director of Reliability, Availability, & Serviceability (RAS). Dr. Kong, who previously served as Reliability Engineering Manager at Xros/Nortel Networks, brings 20 years of hands-on telecommunications experience to the company.Dr. Kong’s assumes responsibility for Telcordia and reliability qualification of the iTOSS-1000TM, the company’s flagship photonic switching product, as well as its components and subassemblies, including integrated MOEMS mirrors. He will also be responsible for the modeling and optimizing the high system availability and serviceability. In this role, Dr. Kong will report directly to Transparent's VP of Operations.
