Telus offers Ethernet private line services using Nortel Networks optical technology

OTTAWA -- TELUS Corp. [TSX: T, T.A; NYSE: TU], one of Canada's leading telecommunications companies, has expanded its service portfolio with new Optical Ethernet technology from Nortel Networks* [NYSE/TSX: NT]. Using the Optical Metro 3500 Multiservice Platform, Nortel Networks next generation SONET platform, TELUS is offering its customers robust Ethernet private line services that support mission-critical applications with low latency and high resiliency.

To leverage this innovative technology, Symcor Inc., based in Canada, has deployed TELUS' Ethernet private line services to support its outsourcing business, which specializes in providing financial institutions physical, electronic check and payment processing as well as statement development and processing.
