BARCELONA -- Aepona, the leading provider of Service Network products and solutions, today announced that it has been selected by TELUS, a leading Canadian telecommunications company, as the prime supplier for its Service Delivery Framework (SDF) project. The TELUS SDF is a major initiative by the company to expose the capabilities of its network, via Web Services, to third party application developers and enterprise customers in a secure, controlled and simple manner.

Through this pioneering initiative, TELUS is bringing enterprise/IT software concepts such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) into the telecommunications domain, and is embracing the highly successful Internet service development model in order to drive forward service innovation, giving third party application developers simpler access to its network resources. The SDF will allow TELUS to fully exploit its network assets, successfully defend its position against existing and new competitors, and further extend its market leadership. Because the SDF traverses both wireless and wireline domains, it is also a key enabler for TELUS'Fixed-Mobile Convergence strategy.
