Sunrise Shines at Belgacom

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Sunrise Telecom Incorporated (Nasdaq: SRTI - News) announced today that both the Scalable Test Toolkit (STT) and Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) have been selected by Belgium's incumbent Tier-1 service provider, Belgacom, for its Ethernet and Fiberchannel transmission test requirements. Key factors motivating the customer's selection were the expandability and flexibility of both STT and MTT platforms. Not only do both units support a variety of next generation test technologies, but their interoperability with each other in a switched network environment like Ethernet provides unparalleled test functionality compared to other modular test platforms available on the market today.

The STT was selected after an intensive competitive technical evaluation, a period during which all major aspects of the product were scrutinized and tested. Following a stringent commercial process, the first STT units were ordered, and since delivery have been used extensively to verify Ethernet and Fiberchannel services.

The SunSet MTT was selected after a similar technical and commercial process in late 2004. The first shipments of units have already been delivered to the customer and are being used to complement testing performed by the STT. To ensure that units are used effectively, Sunrise Telecom has supported the customer on several levels, including extensive product training and custom user manuals in local languages, both of which were prepared in cooperation with Heynen, the exclusive Sunrise Telecom distributor for the Benelux market.
