SALEM, N.H. -- StockerYale, Inc. (Nasdaq: STKR), a leading provider of phase masks, specialty optical fiber, and specialized illumination products, today announced the availability of what it believes to be the industry's most advanced Cladding Mode Suppression (CMS) fiber available today. Used in the manufacture of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs), this specially engineered fiber provides virtually total suppression of cladding modes making it ideal for broad-spectrum bandwidth DWDM applications and gain flattening filters. Dr. Ming Gang Xu, vice president of Novx Microsystems is encouraged by the potential that StockerYale's CMS fiber can bring to his development efforts. When asked about its properties and quality, Dr. Xu responded, "Awesome -- the best CMS fiber we've seen so far." Novx Microsystems is a newly founded technology company engaged in the development, manufacturing and marketing of optical communication modules and subsystems for long haul and metropolitan area optical telecommunication networks. "This new CMS fiber is the first in a series of advanced specialty optical fibers (SOF) that will be introduced over the next few months demonstrating StockerYale's scientific and technical expertise in the area," said Alain Beauregard, StockerYale's president & chief technology officer.StockerYale Inc.
