Sterlite Intros Access Fiber

AURANGABAD, India -- Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd, India's only and leading integrated manufacturer of Optical Fibers and Telecom Cables recently announced the launch of three new products: OH-Lite, Giga-Lite & SuperLAN for Access and Premise Networks.

Sterlite OH-Lite is a low loss optical fiber optimized for use in the 1310nm window that can also be effectively used in the 1550 nm wavelength region. OH-Lite single mode fiber has a low water peak, characterized by attenuation at 1380-1390 nm band being less than 1310 nm. It has the industry leading transmission capacity of any non-dispersion shifted single mode product due to its low chromatic dispersion and minimal PMD.

Sterlite OH-Lite Optical Fiber complies with or exceeds ITU Recommendation G.652.C/D and the IEC 60793-2-50 Optical Fiber Specification.

Sterlite Multimode Optical Fiber Giga-Lite is a high performance multimode fiber designed for laser-based Gigabit Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) applications at 1Gb/s speeds and is fully compatible with legacy systems.

Sterlite's 50/125-micron and 62.5/125-micron variants of Giga-Lite Optical Fibers offer highest overfill bandwidth, which exceeds the requirements for slower legacy protocols like Ethernet, FDDI, Fast Ethernet, ATM and Fiber Channel.

These fibers finds usage in premises wiring applications, like Local Area Networks (including backbone, riser and horizontal) with video, data and/or voice services using LED, VCSEL and Fabry-Perot lasers sources at 850 nm or 1300 nm.

Sterlite SuperLAN Cables are suitable for transmission of high-speed data, digital & analog voice and video signals on LANs. These cables support Gigabit Ethernet standards and are compatible with all common systems according to EN 50173, ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA/EIA 568-B Sterlite SuperLAN Cables are available in Cat 5e and Cat 6 Variants.
