HONG KONG -- SUNDAY Communications Ltd. (SEHK: 0866; NASDAQ: SDAY) is launching a new SMS service to provide location based SARS updates from the Department of Health to enable callers to instantly know which buildings in their calling area have confirmed atypical pneumonia cases. And, in an effort to assist hospitalized patients, SUNDAY will donate 1,000 SUNDAY Rechargeable SIM cards to the Hospital Authority for distribution to patients recovering in local hospitals to stay in touch with loved ones during their in-patient recovery. SUNDAY subscribers can dial *260 (Chinese) or *261 (English) to access SARS-related data via SMS which has been provided by the Department of Health's website - www.info.gov.hk/dh/ap.htm -- including information on locations visited by suspected SARS patients, as well as the most updated names of buildings within one kilometer of the subscriber's calling area in which there have been confirmed atypical pneumonia cases. There will be no charge per SMS request; subscribers will only be charged based on normal airtime. "During this difficult time, it's important that we follow the recommended precautions as the SARS crisis continues. SUNDAY's new SMS service provides subscribers with important location based information regarding buildings identified by the Department of Health as areas that may have been visited by people suspected or confirmed to have atypical pneumonia. With the dial of a few digits, subscribers can quickly get the peace of mind they need to go about their everyday lives. Also, as we continue to adhere to the Department of Health's precautionary recommendations, we must remember the patients who are still fighting this virus. By donating mobile services through the Hospital Authority, SUNDAY hopes that we can help many recovering patients stay in touch with their loved ones while they're not able to leave the hospital or receive visitors. We hope this gesture makes a positive difference in their recovery," said Bruce Hicks, Group Managing Director of SUNDAY Communications Ltd. Sunday Communications Ltd.
