ECI Wins in Russia

PETAH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom, a global provider ofnetworking infrastructure, announced today that it has signed a cooperativeframe agreement with CJSC "Synterra", one of Russia's largest nationaltelecommunications operators, for delivery of the XDMR and BroadGateRMulti-Service Transport Platform (MSTP) solutions to support the carrier's60,000 km-long network, one of Russia's largest nationwide transportnetworks.

ECI's multiservice and multi-technology XDM platform offers CJSC "Synterra",the unique convergence of Carrier Ethernet, SDH and all-range ROADMs onto asingle platform. A variety of both legacy and new packet-based services willbe deployed over CJSC "Synterra" transport network through the future-proofXDM. CJSC "Synterra" is deploying ECI's class-leading 10-degree WSS ROADMin all major nodes, allowing for easy and quick forecast-tolerantprovisioning of any or all services across the entire network. The extensiveuse of ROADM allows for OPEX reductions, substantially shorter provisioningtime, and CAPEX savings by extending the optical reach.

ECI is CJSC "Synterra" major network infrastructure equipment vendor, and assuch ECI will establish an emergency stock warehouse for swift and seamlessprovisioning of packet-optical transport equipment to support the carrier'surgent deployment needs.

To deepen the relationship between the companies, as part of this agreement,ECI will offer ongoing technology seminars and updates to CJSC "Synterra"employees to educate them about the company's innovative solution offeringsand future developments.
