AT&T selects additional domain network equipment supplier

DALLAS -- AT&T Inc.* today announced the selection of Ciena as one of its Domain Suppliers for optical and transport equipment needed for its industry-leading IP-based network.
The multi-year selection covers equipment used to expand and maintain AT&T's metropolitan and long-haul network infrastructure, including use of coherent 100G wavelength capability and OTN switching.
Financial terms of the supplier agreement were not disclosed.
"After conducting an extensive review of multiple optical and transport equipment suppliers, we're pleased to extend a long-standing relationship with Ciena," said Tim Harden, President of AT&T's Supply Chain and Fleet Operations organization.
