PCCW's Hughes: Carriers Shouldn't Cling to the 'Standards Snuggie'

DENVER -- Snuggies may be warm and familiar but PCCW Global's David Hughes says it's time for telcos to ditch the security blanket of clinging to legacy operations. As carriers move forward with their cloud transformations, Hughes explains the biggest challenge is adapting company culture to new technologies. While operators have historically relied on standards as a guiding light, Hughes says moving forward "standards may need to be more functional and smaller in scale."
