SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. [NASDAQ: NETL], a worldwide leader in high-performance intelligent semiconductor solutions for next-generation Internet networks, today announced that it was awarded its 500th patent. Being awarded its 500th patent is a strong recognition of NetLogic Microsystems' innovation and technology leadership in high-performance semiconductor solutions that perform highly differentiated tasks for advanced 3G/4G mobile wireless infrastructure, data center, enterprise, metro Ethernet, and edge and core infrastructure networks.

NetLogic Microsystems' patent portfolio covers a wide range of innovations, from high-speed circuits to architecture improvements, conceived during the company's continuing development of its industry-leading knowledge-based processors, multi-core processors and 10/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet physical-layer (PHY) solutions which are being deployed by Tier One original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in leading systems such as switches, routers, wireless base stations, security appliances, networked storage appliances, service gateways and connected media devices.
