Huawei announces that it secured 16 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO contracts and recorded a 30% growth in CDMA revenues in 2006

SHENZHEN, China -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that it secured 16 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO commercial contracts in 2006 and recorded a 30 percent growth in CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) revenues in the same period.

Huawei's CDMA solutions now serve over 60 million users worldwide as a result of the company's strong customer-centric focus and success over the past 10 years in the CDMA business. Huawei actively invests and participates in CDMA standards and technology research, contributing significantly to the development of Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB) architecture. The company accounted for 14 percent of UMB patents filed as of December 2006.
