READING, U.K. -- Verizon Business announced today the launch of Hosted IP Centrex in Europe, a key component of the new Verizon VoIP portfolio unveiled at VON Europe 2006. Verizon Hosted IP Centrex enables enterprises to easily and cost-effectively tap into enhanced voice and data applications, helping to increase employee productivity both in and out of the office with an array of Web-based features.

Verizon Hosted IP Centrex is an IP telephony solution that offers enterprises a robust, flexibly scalable voice service, including features such as remote working, click-to-dial, auto attendant and Web-based receptionist services. Delivered in a consolidated and cost effective package, and hosted and managed by Verizon Business, it eliminates the requirement for businesses to invest in, and cope with, the hardware and software maintenance of PBX or IPBX equipment by taking the call control and end-user applications into the provider network.

"Verizon Hosted IP Centrex is a great solution for businesses that are opening up new locations or are looking for alternatives to IP PBX solutions," said Roberta Mackintosh, director of international products for Verizon Business. "Expanding businesses struggle with the decision to invest in new voice communications infrastructure for their new sites and growing user populations. They don't want to end up with a sizeable investment in an IPBX and then conclude soon after installation it has already reached its limits.

"With Verizon Hosted IP Centrex the investment requirements are minimal, whilst the amount of users that can be connected can be expanded flexibly on any given moment without additional investments," Mackintosh continued. "In addition, as a fully managed service, it is a star performer in the area of operational expenses and limits dramatically the claim it makes on a business's IT human resources."
