BOCA RATON, Fla. -- CopperCom today announced that 3 Rivers Communications, a 53 year-old telecommunications company serving Montana, has purchased and installed five CopperCom Converged Switching eXchange (CSX®) next-generation softswitches. The five switches are part of a major system upgrade that is enabling 3 Rivers to offer an array of advanced services such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) over wireless.

CopperCom’s CSX Switching System is field-proven and capable of delivering applications ranging from greenfield deployments and cap-and-replace of legacy systems to advanced service delivery over packet networks. The CSX offers advanced VoIP services, legacy voice services, and personalized control of features via the Switchmaxx Unified Self-Care™ Web portal. The CSX’s flexibility, architectural scalability and robust feature set make it the softswitch solution of choice for IOCs and CLECs.

“When we examined the costs of upgrades, RTU fees and new services for our legacy switches, it made sense to move to a next-gen switch, which we knew would be more cost effective. After evaluating several softswitches, we felt the CSX had the best solution for Class 4/5 features,” said Darren Moser, general manager at3 Rivers Communications. “It certainly has shown to be a good fit for our network, and CopperCom has proven to be a good partner for us for the future.”
