The contractincludes a framework of a 3-year supply agreement and willbe worth approximately EUR 9 million. Added to this are relevant maintenance and support agreements. With TransXpress Infinity WLS and TransXpress Waveline Metronet, IC Networks supplies CYTA with the latest DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) equipment for setting up the network in Cyprus. In preparation for this, CYTA is basing its approach on a future-proof solution offering high bandwidth and the opportunity to provide a host of profitable services. The network design, the comprehensive features of the offered platform, the wide range of currently available interfaces, the operation and maintenance facilities were decisive factors that led to IC Networks winning the Cypriot telecom company's order. Voice and data services will be transmitted over the DWDM platform, making it possible to quickly accommodate new transmission capacity requirements placed on the network. With this order Siemens IC Networks succeeded a major step towards further expansion of its position in the South-East European telecommunications market.Siemens Information and Communications Networks Inc.
